Scholastic UK to take on distribution of Marie Clay list

London 27th May 2015. Global Education Systems Ltd, the global managers of Marie M. Clay’s body of work have appointed Scholastic UK to distribute the entire list in the United Kingdom and Eire effective immediately.
For three decades Marie M. Clay has been acknowledged as a world leader in research on literacy learning, child development and the prevention of learning disorders. Her early academic work as a child psychologist involved the observation and study of children as they acquire literacy. An outcome of this research was the development of reliable tools for assessing progress with literacy learning and these instruments have been published and are widely used around the world today. Marie’s decision to focus on struggling learners and the resulting development of the Reading Recovery early intervention changed how the education community worldwide viewed these children’s chances of becoming literate. There have been many other publications by Marie M. Clay in the areas of writing, oral language and classroom learning.
Tracy Strudley, Sales and Marketing Director Global Ed NZ said: Teachers and Educators in and around the UK will now have access to all Marie Clay Literacy Trust titles. They can expect fast and efficient service from Scholastic UK, not only for those titles that are focused on Reading Recovery but also titles for classroom teachers of literacy.
Gordon Knowles, M D Scholastic Education UK said:  We are delighted to be taking on the distribution of the Marie Clay list. Marie Clay has made a huge contribution to the education of young children around the world, recognising how critical reading is to children’s success and the list is a perfect fit with Scholastic’s mission to support teachers and parents in helping children to read independently and joyfully.
